A five-day private tour can combine several North Island highlights, depending on your interests and starting point. Options may include Rotorua’s geothermal attractions and Māori cultural experiences, Waitomo Caves, Hobbiton, Lake Taupō, the Coromandel or other destinations that suit your route.

Yes. A 7-day private tour gives you time to explore several regions, while a 10-day itinerary can allow a more extensive journey with additional sightseeing and time at selected destinations. The best route depends on where you want to go, your arrival and departure arrangements, and your travel pace.

Our 7-day and 10-day tours can be customised to your group rather than following a fixed group-tour schedule.

Our current daily vehicle rates are NZ$900 per day for a Mercedes-Benz Vito, recommended for 1–6 guests, and NZ$1,200 per day for a larger Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, recommended for 7–11 guests.

For example, a 5-day tour costs NZ$4,500 for 1–6 guests or NZ$6,000 for 7–11 guests. Prices are per private group, not per person.

Great North Tours can accommodate private groups of up to 11 guests. We generally recommend the Mercedes-Benz Vito for 1–6 guests and the larger Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for 7–11 guests. We can recommend the most suitable vehicle based on your group and luggage requirements.

Your starting point can be arranged around your travel plans. Depending on the itinerary, we can discuss pickups from Auckland, Hamilton, airports or other agreed locations. We can also plan a route that finishes in a different location if it suits your arrangements.
